I have a dream…

October 14th, 2008 by xxxmak0xxx

Now, I say to you today my friends… even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow… i still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the America dream. I have a dream that one day… this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold theses truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

Anoher YearOlder…

December 3rd, 2007 by xxxmak0xxx

A birthday is just another day,
young of mind, yet youthful looks go away.
Another year older,
the world seems a bit colder.
Yet my heart still burns,
and for love it forever yearns.
Another year older,
I grow even bolder.
Life is for us to learn from,
as calculated as a mathematical sum.
Another year older,
hurting blazes now just smolder.
Letting go of past rage and pain,
living life and feeling sane.
Another year older,
a tear on your shoulder.
Life has not been so bad,
my tear is of joy not because I’m sad.
Another day older,
more pages added to my folder.
I’m glad of whom I am today,
I would not have myself any other way.
So don’t mind that I write my own birthday rhyme,
I’ve lived through my life up till this time.
I think it is safe to say,
that things will go as planned Her way.
She’s got more for me yet,
It’ll be even better I bet.
Another year older,
and I am in Her debt.

Never Alone…

November 29th, 2007 by xxxmak0xxx

I feel you in the morning

When at first I awake

Your thought is with me

With each decision I make

You’d been around forever

Since the first breath I took

Now I have to go on alone

But for love, I need not look

Cause by what you bestowed

In our short time together

Will last in my heart

Forever and ever

Although you’ve left

And now walk above

I’m never alone

I’m wrapped in your love

Enjoy now your long waited reward

Feel peace that your love continues on

What was taught to me, will be taught to mine

Cause you live on in me even after you’ve gone

A Sad Goodbye…

November 29th, 2007 by xxxmak0xxx

I sit and wander everyday
Whether you are going to be   back in my arms
Once more…
I began to finally realize
You are gone
Gone from me, my heart, and my soul
I loved you with everything and more.
What did you have to go without letting me say
Goodbye

Politics - II

Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations,—entangling alliances with none; the support of the Governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns, and the surest bulwarks against anti-republican tendencies; the preservation of the general government in its whole constitutional vigour, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad; …freedom of religion; freedom of the press; freedom of person under the protection of the habeas corpus; and trial by juries impartially selected, — these principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us, and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation.

To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.

The Ati-Atihan Festival

January 18th, 2007 by xxxmak0xxx

The Ati-Atihan, held every January in the town of Kalibo in the province of Aklan on the island of Panay, is the wildest among Philippine fiestas.
Celebrants paint their faces with black soot and wear bright,
outlandish costumes as they dance in revelry during the last three days
of this week-long festival.

The Ati-Atihan, a feast in honor of the Santo Niño,
is celebrated on the second Sunday after Epiphany. Catholics observe
this special day with processions, parades, dancing, and merrymaking.
The Santo Niño has long been the favorite of Filipinos and
devotion to it has been intense ever since an image was first presented
to Juana, Queen of Cebu, in 1521.

Although the Ati-Atihan seems to show only revelry, a closer look shows that it has historic origins.

Life-giving emptiness

All the love.

All the talent.

All the time.

All the attention.

All the joy.

All the tenderness.

All the suffering.

All the promises.

All the caring.

All is lost!

There is only a void.

Only death.

Only nothingness.

There is grace in recognizing the obvious.

Hard and reassuring reality.

Total Surrender.

My suffering is transformed into light,

into purification,

into bursting life.

Why must I die in order to learn how to live?
